24 December 2025 to 1 January 2026 – Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia
Indonesia has a big food problem: while some families cannot afford enough to eat, millions of tons are wasted every year. In Semarang, this issue is a major challenge, with more than half of the city’s 1,200 tons of daily waste coming from food. This waste fills already overcrowded landfills, releasing greenhouse gases that worsen climate change.
Want to be a volunteer who transforms waste into hope? This event is perfect for you! Volunteers and locals will become Food Warriors, rescuing food from markets and farms. They will cook and share meals with vulnerable communities, directly addressing hunger. Through hands-on workshops, visits to local projects tackling waste solutions, and a digital campaign, we will empower youth and children to fight food waste, protect the climate, and build a sustainable future.
