ABOUT
After two years into the Palestinian genocide, organizers and activists have been mobilizing in a constant state of crisis. Yet, there are few spaces to reflect and refocus. And at the same time for many, especially young people, the Palestinian cause and the rise in global militarization have been key entry points into political activism over the past years. This has created a gap between the urgency to act and the need for deeper knowledge, political tools, and resources.
We are creating an advanced training and skillshare focused on the Palestinian question and action, welcoming 20 activists, educators, community organizers and youth workers who work on Palestine and are based in Europe and SWANA region, to go with us beyond the basics.
REQUIREMENTS
Weโre looking for 20 participants who are eager to engage in an experience full of discussion, learning, and collaborating. This training is for you if you are:
- 18 years of age or older
- Based in the EU or SWANA region
- Connected to organizing for Palestine (e.g., engaged in mutual aid or community-based work, participated in student groups or collectives, hosted workshops or study groups on Palestine, created media content, etc.)
- Ready to challenge your current perception of organizing for Palestine and engage with others
- Motivated to bring valuable skills to the space (e.g., filmmaking, design, care work, fundraising, research, etc.)
- Able to participate in English
We explicitly encourage participation of people of all genders, who have a migration or refugee background, as well as disabled and queer individuals.
FINANCIAL CONDITIONS
This is an international Erasmus+ seminar funded by the Austrian Erasmus+ National Agency for Youth as part of an accreditation project in the field of youth (2021-2027). Thanks to Erasmus+ funding, board, lodging, travel and activities are covered. There is no participation fee for this training. Travel costs will be reimbursed afterwards to an agreed limit, depending on the sending country. We strongly encourage green travel and will support you with advice and planning. Other necessary expenses, such as visa fees, will be reimbursed after approval by the organisers.
