At the webinar, we will start from the recent experience of International Voluntary Service organisations around the world, which aimed at assessing the impact of volunteering as a tool for popular education.

Next, we will look at the challenges and outcomes of participatory research in the context of non- formal education: where learning is intended, organised, and can produce transformational change for the individuals, communities and organisations involved. By linking general concepts of programme evaluability and theory of change to the specific learning objectives and training and educational methodologies of our work, we will try to start answering
the most important question in evaluation and assessment research:

What did you want to do (and how)? Is the black cat really supposed to be in the room?
