Description

Internationella Arbetslag (IAL), SCI’s Sweden branch, is holding a work and study camp focused on practical volunteerism and active citizenship. The camp aims to improve and maintain the facilities of Bäckedal Folk High School, a school focused on adult education which offers general programs providing basic eligibility for higher education, as well as specialized programs in traditional skills and crafts. Leather, metal and textile processes, from ancient times to modern times, form the core of most courses, along with sustainable living, democratic values and man’s historical relationship with nature.

The camp is also a course. Volunteers will discuss how to create sustainable knowledge and guide a compass for the future based on SCI’s vision of a more peaceful and sustainable world.
